Chuck Bartok here and I have been “playing ” in the dirt since we moved from Chicago in 1950 to Southern California. My folks Bought a “new” home on a 1/4 acre lot in Downey, California. The soil was rich and I had all the room needed to grow Veggies like Grandma did in her Victory Garden in Chicago, except I could do it Year round…sheer Heaven.
But always an entrepreneur, thanks to my Parents and Neighbors who all seemed to be DOERS and Shakers, I found that growing and caring for Vegetables can be profitable. I attended UCR and after graduation ended up in the Coachella Valley, plying with Bugs and farming Veggies.

Time warp a few years found me moving to Northern California and again becoming involved in Growing, this time a 20 Acre Truck Farm to provide food and Income to my New Family (32 years ago)

And now, due to health condition my growing is relegated to 200 sq feet surrounding our beautiful home on the Sacramento River, Woodson Bridge Estates. ( I am cheating though, planted a large Garden at the Harrah Ranch, Barns By Harrahs)
